WORLD THINKING DAY CELEBRATED IN THE VIDYALAYA

Lord Baden Powell’s Birthday was celebrated as ‘World Thinking Day’ on 22nd Feb, 2018 in KV NDA with great enthusiasm.

The programme commenced at 9:00 AM. The Senior most PGT & the Chief Guest of the occasion Mrs Jyoti Patil (PGT Physics) lighted the lamp & garlanded the photo of Lord Baden Powell subsequently followed by All faith prayer in which, the Head Mistress, Flock  Leaders, Cub Masters, Guide Captains & scout Masters actively participated along with Cubs- Bulbul, Scouts &  Guides of the Vidyalaya.

Thereafter, the Scout prayer followed by the Flag Break was solemnly performed in the presence of the dignitaries with the help of the Colour Party followed by the Zanda Geet. One Guide of VIII-A presented a Good Thought for the day. Later on, other Guide delivered a speech on the theme suggested by NHQ, “Impact for the girl guides & girl scouts is all about bringing positive change”. During her speech, she asserted that Humanity is above everything. The sense of Sisterhood/Brotherhood and good citizenship are the foremost values for the Scouts & Guides to put into practice. The Flock Leader Smt. Nutan Dariyanani PRT briefed the significance of WAGGGS.

As per the direction of the B S&G NHQ, Various articles such as – Notebooks, Stationary, Dictionary etc. were donated by the Scouts & Guides, Cubs & Bulbuls to the needy students.

A rally was held at 10:30 around the School Premises holding banners & posters of Lord Bedan Powel in hands and slogans at their mouth, the message of Bedan Powel was spread on the Thinking Day. Snacks were also distributed among the participants followed by the Lunch Break at 11:30.

The post Lunch Session witnessed a game played by the Scouts & Guides with two Teams under the Activity – FLAME -  IMPACT IN OUR VALUES which not only energized all the participants but also brought out the significance of the values in one’s day-to-day life. Later on, the Drawing Competition, based on the theme “Swachh Bharat”, was held in which maximum Scouts & Guides along with cubs & Bulbuls participated with enthusiasm. The exhibition of  drawings enhanced the glory of the programme. Thereafter, meticulous preparation rendered to demonstrate the spirit of the movement was being reflected through various flex banners & posters. A space for wide publicity of the same was given in the Social media to cater to the objectives of the movement.

Now, since it was the time of Flag Lowering, all the Scouts & Guides fraternity gathered in a horse-shoe formation and the Programme came to an end at 2:10 PM with the National anthem.
