WORLD THINKING DAY CELEBRATED IN THE VIDYALAYA

 

As per the guidelines/letter of KVS RO Mumbai dated 14th Feb, 2017 Lord Baden Powell’s Birthday was celebrated as ‘World Thinking Day’ on 22ndFeb, 2017 in KV NDA with enthusiasm.

The programme commence at 8:30 AM. The venue Principal & the Chief Guest of the occasion Mr Cherian C George lighted the lamp & garlanded the photo of Lord Baden Powell subsequently followed by All faith prayer in which Vice-Principal, Head Mistress, Flock  Leaders, Guide Captains & scout Masters actively participated along with 188 Cubs- Bulbul, Scouts &  Guides of the Vidyalaya.

Thereafter, the Scout prayer followed by the Flag Break was solemnly performed in the presence of the dignitaries with the help of the Colour Party followed by the Zanda Geet. One Guide of VIII-A presented a Good Thought for the day. Later on, the Chief Guest blessed the children with his speech and guided them that the dignity of the uniform should be in action and words in all aspects. The Flock Leader Smt. Nutan Dariyanani PRT briefed the significance of WAGGGS.

The Drawing Competition, based on the theme “Grow”, was held in which maximum Scouts & Guides along with cubs & Bulbuls participated with enthusiasm. The exhibition of  drawings enhanced the glory of the programme. The cubs & Bulbuls of Primary Section performed a group  Dance on ‘ We will Shine’ song, written at  ‘Sangam World Centre’ 2016, energized all the participants. Thereafter, Cleanliness Drive was undertaken in the School premises with the help of the Cubs & the Bulbuls. The Staff Members & the students actively donated in the donation boxes for the cause of the Movement. Snacks were also distributed among the participants. Special efforts were taken towards the preparation as the spirit of the movement was being reflected through various flex banners & posters. A space for wide publicity of the same was given in the Social media to cater to the objectives of the movement.

Now, since it was the time of Flag Lowering, all the Scouts & Guides fraternity gathered in a horse-shoe formation and the Programme came to an end at 2:00 PM with the National anthem.
